Developments In Mid Sussex

Over the past few years, Mid Sussex DC has been developing plans for the towns of East Grinstead, Haywards Heath & Burgess Hill along with developments to the station area at Haywards Heath.

This is the latest news as of early June 2009

East Grinstead
As landowner the Council have approved a mixed use scheme for revitalisation of the Queens Walk area of the Town Centre. The scheme is currently being reviewed by our partner Thornfield Properties prior to the commencement of public consultation which will lead to the submission of a planning application in 2010.

Burgess Hill
As landowner the Council has approved a mixed use scheme for revitalisation of large part of the Town Centre. This scheme includes the replacement of key community assets such the public Library and Martlets Hall. A planning application is expected in 2010.

Haywards Heath town centre
Our partner is in the process of preparing a concept scheme for Council consideration as landowner.

Haywards Heath Station Quarter
As landowner the Council has considered a mixed use scheme for the area around the station. The Council has set out a series of key objectives and desirable outcomes to be achieved and as a result our partner is currently reviewing the scheme. The scheme is mixed use with a significant office element as well as improved public transport interchange at the station and improved car parking provision.
